SUNSET GIRLS BASKETBALL COMMUNICATION APPROACH
In the Sunset Girls Basketball program we believe in teaching our student athletes accountability through open and honest communication with peers, coaches, teachers, and parents. We will follow the communication approach below to put accountability on our student athletes to directly ask coaches and get direct feedback. We believe that this is something that every high school student should learn in order to set them up for the next phase of life.
Communication Approach
1) Student athlete has basketball related question.
2) Student athlete approaches coach about basketball related question.
3) Coach gives CLEAR, actionable feedback to the student athlete. The student athlete acknowledges that they understand the feedback provided.
4) Student athlete will communicate clear, actionable feedback to parent(s) or guardians.
5) IF parent(s)/guardians or student athletes feel there was misunderstanding, the student athlete should approach coach again to firm up understanding.
6) IF parent(s)/guardians are unhappy at this point regarding the situation they may reach out to the coach to set up a meeting.
7) IF parents are still unhappy with the situation a meeting can be set up between the parent, student athlete, coach, and athletic director.
